Daytona Beach, Fla. (July 2, 2009) – In the 92 degree heat of sunny Daytona Beach, Rookie Michael Annett was hot on the track running 8th in both practice sessions today. With an impressive lap time of 48.848, Annett was the 8th fastest time out of 45 cars today at Daytona International Speedway.

Contending for the Raybestos Rookie of the Year award, Annett was the fastest rookie candidate in final practice and the second fastest rookie in the first practice.

With his two victories at superspeedways in the past including his 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series win at Daytona, his strong runs in practice today continue to build Annett’s confidence for a good performance in tomorrow’s Subway Jalapeno 250 powered by Coca-Cola. Warming up the track with two successful practice sessions today, the No. 15 Ventrilo Toyota Camry is now ready to qualify and race tomorrow.

Nationwide Series qualifying starts at 1 p.m. on ESPN 2. The green flag drops at 8 p.m. for Daytona International Speedway’s Subway Jalapeno 250 powered by Coca-Cola. Watch the race live on ESPN starting at 7:30 p.m.
