Bristol, Tenn. (March 22, 2010) – On the first official day of spring, Michael Annett and Germain Racing’s No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers team hit the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway’s half mile track for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Scotts Turf Builder 300.

The No. 15 Germain Racing team had their work cut out for them as they started the race 38th, but quickly raced their way into the top-20 by lap 63. Fighting a tight condition, the No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers pit crew continually worked hard during pit stops to make the necessary adjustments.

With damage to the right front fender caused by flying debris from a mishap ahead of him, Annett was forced to pit road numerous times during the race so his team could take time to patch up the damage.

“It was a caution-filled day at Bristol and we pitted several times throughout the 300 lap race. We used every set of tires we were allowed. We felt we had a top-10 finish coming in the end, but with a flat left rear tire with 25 laps to go, we unfortunately had to come to pit road under green to change left side tires when we were running 12th,” said crew chief Ryan Fugle.

“I guess adventurous is the best word for today’s race,” said Annett, “We had a good race car, but we had to give up valuable track position throughout the day in order to come down pit road to repair a fender that had a hole in it. Once we had that behind us, we were able to make our way up to a top-12 spot and race with the leaders. In the end, we showed that we belong up there, but with 25 laps to go a left rear tire went flat as we were coming to take the green on the final restart of the day and that put two laps down. We had the same bad luck last year in the spring race. We definitely had a better car than where we finished.”

Annett’s 20th place finish in his No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers Toyota Camry allowed him to jump from 18th to 15th in Nationwide Series point standings, only 51 points from the top-10.
